The battle may be over, but the struggle to keep living continues every day

Keren served in the Gaza Division from 2003 to 2005, during a challenging security period that included Israel's disengagement from Gaza.

As a combat medic on an intensive care ambulance team, she was on call 24/7 to evacuate casualties and respond to complex emergencies throughout Gaza, including helicopter evacuations.

After completing her regular service, she continued for six additional months and signed on for a brief period of career service in the Medical Corps. About ten months after her discharge, she was diagnosed with severe complex PTSD.
